Robert Kirkman

Robert Kirkman (geboren am 30. November 1978) ist ein US-amerikanischer Comic-Autor, Drehbuchautor und Produzent. Am bekanntesten ist er als Mitentwickler von The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, Invincible, Tech Jacket, Outcast, Oblivion Song und Fire Power für Image Comics. Außerdem schrieb er Ultimate X-Men, Irredeemable Ant-Man und Marvel Zombies für Marvel Comics. Zusammen mit Image-Comics-Mitbegründer Todd McFarlane arbeitete er auch an der Serie Haunt. Er ist einer der fünf Partner von Image Comics und derzeit als COO tätig, wobei er der einzige der fünf ist, der nicht zu den Mitbegründern gehört. Im Jahr 2010 gründete Kirkman gemeinsam mit anderen das Unterhaltungsunternehmen Skybound Entertainment, um Inhalte für traditionelle und neue Medien – darunter Comics, Fernsehen und Film – zu entwickeln. Das Unternehmen verwaltet außerdem die Lizenzen für The Walking Dead und Invincible. 2018 erweiterte Skybound sein Geschäft um Skybound Games, um Videospiele basierend auf dem firmeneigenen geistigen Eigentum zu entwickeln. Kirkman ist zudem bekannt für die Entwicklung und Produktion der Fernsehserien Outcast und Invincible, beides Adaptionen seiner eigenen Comicreihen. Er schrieb außerdem mehrere Episoden von The Walking Dead und Fear the Walking Dead. Darüber hinaus ist er Executive Producer der AMC-Serie Robert Kirkman’s Secret History of Comics sowie des koreanischen prä-apokalyptischen Dramas Five Year.
